Forgive me for the haphazard schedule of these 2009 updates. I hope you guys can get use to them because it's going to be this way from now on... updating whenever I can find the time - rotations will just come one after the other about more than one month's time. Sunday, April 12, 2009 - A long overdue update!
Your eyes are not deceiving you. It's about a month and a half late, but I have updated Musical Chairs! I just grabbed whatever spare time I could to do this. These past few weeks have been a killer. Mostly likely, I won't be able update for another month and a half, so I apologize in advance. The new rotation has one extra song than normal to make up for lost time (not much I know, but it'll do): 'Desert' by Emilie Simon, '灰色の瞳 (with 草野マサムネ)' by 椎名林檎, 'Revolt III' by Kent, '赤壁 ～大江东去～' by alan, 'Come Back To Me (Seamus Haji & Paul Emanuel Radio Edit)' by UTADA, and 'Die Königin' by Klee. Just when I was about to postpone this month's rotation, something strange came over me and caused me update even though it's WAY past midnight. I won't talk too much cause I'm terribly tired. Friday, January 02, 2009 - Happy New Year!
Happy 2009! The new rotation (one day late) is as follows: "Hana ni Nare" by flumpool, "Take the Wave" by Naifu, and "Powerstripe" by Tigercity.
The final part of the "Blast from the Past Special" features songs uploaded in 2007: "Me and Shirley T." by Jake Shimabukuro, "Mitsugetsu" by Shiori Takei, and "Quicksand" by Deli Spice. The end of this three-part special means... Happy Birthday 4th Birthday to Musical Chairs (on January 13th)... and no more excuse to put up three-song rotations. Guh.
Also, please note the small heads-up messages by the comment box links. Seems like some of you guys were getting confused? I just wanted to make things easier. :) Jenny
Sunday, November 30, 2008 - Spreading Some Holiday Cheer!
I'm a day early because I want to take advantage of the weekend in updating. :) New rotation is as follows: "Shuumatsu Niwa Shokuji o Shiyou (Live)" by Masayoshi Yamazaki, "Yioeyi Sasil" by Sister's Barbershop, and "Sueno" by Fractal.
This month's "Blast from the Past Special" features song uploaded in 2006: "The Walk" by Imogen Heap, "Cristofori's Dream" by David Lanz, and "Suki Sa" by Anzen Chitai. And just so you guys know, I wouldn't reupload these songs if I didn't think they were exceptionally good. ;)
Since the holidays are around the corner, I also have the annual "Christmas Special" up. Instead of uploading a dozen or so individual Christmas songs like I've done in the past (which takes forever!), I've opted to post an entire album instead: "Christmas Eve" by David Lanz. I hope everyone had a spooktacular Halloween! The new rotation is as follows: "LOONY'S ANTHEM" by TRICERATOPS, "Taiyou (the swelling sun) by Fuyumi Abe, and "the cookie crumbles" by BIGMAMA.
Remember, I mentioned I was planning something big? Well, this rotation is the 1st part in a 3 month long special that I'm calling "Blast from the Past." You will see reposts of songs featured in previous years. Why? In celebration of Musical Chair's 4th birthday of course! This little corner of the web was created on January 13th, 2005... and this special will lead right up to that special day (or well, special month. ^^;) A big thank you goes out to all of MC's visitors for allowing me to indulge in this little hobby of mine and to everyone who has ever posted a comment (big or small). I DO read them... and it makes me happy that people actually visit this place. Thank you! :)
November will feature songs posted in 2005 (the current rotation), December will feature songs posted in 2006, and January will feature songs posted in 2007. This month's special features "Dodaeche" by Camilla, "Jayu" by Yoon Do Hyun Band, and "Sayonara Iro wa Blue" by Maki Yano. I hope you guys check them out if you weren't around in 2005... hehe. Jenny

Sunday, October 05, 2008 - I'm Alive!
Okay, that was a ridiculously short hiatus. Anyways, I just finished my insanely difficult homework for my Advanced Financial Accounting class a few hours ago, so I decided to update. When I started putting this rotation together it was Saturday, now it's Sunday. Haha! No joke. It's 1:30 AM right now. I slept really late last night as well. I hope I don't get used to it. O_O Blah, blah, blah. The new rotation is as follows: "High Tide" by blanc., "So Far So Close" by Kyosuke Himuro, "Lullaby" by The Cure, "Lovesong" by Immi, and "I Need Your Love" by EZ Hyoung.
As for that "Original & Covers" special, I'm thinking of scrapping it because I have a better idea for a special in mind. Jenny
Wednesday, October 01, 2008 - Postponed...
Bad news. I know I promised to continue to update regularly even with school in session, but I have so much homework to do right now, it's not even funny. There's also all kinds of tax deadlines being thrown at me at work too and it's taking a toll on me. So for now October's rotation will be postponed indefinitely. I will try to throw something together when I find the time... argh! Now my monthly rotation schedule is all out of whack. Jenny

Friday, August 01, 2008 - Back to School Blues
After a year long break, I'm finally going back to school in the fall (for grad school). Since I'm also planning to continue to work full time, I'm a little worried whether I will be able to update on time in the following months. I will try my darnest though. So this is just a small heads up notice... If you haven't noticed, Yukari just uploaded a new layout a few minutes ago! Not that it was intentional, but at least one song from each of the albums featured in this layout have been rotated on this site... except for three. Can anyone guess which three? Happy Early Fourth of July (well, to my fellow Americans, anyway)! I really should have some American stuff up to celebrate the occasion... but I don't. Maybe next time? I suffered a bit of Photoshop-is-not-working-properly-so-I-had-to -reinstall-the-whole-dang-thing troubles tonight so all you'll get is four songs this month: 'Neo Ddaemune' by Brown Eyes, 'SLEEPING girl' by COLTEMONIKHA, 'At Least I'm Honest' by Tiger Baby, and 'Rasen no Kioku' by Kurumi Enomoto.
